Each year the major events are:

Eastern University Games – Bathurst, July 5-8 2009

Australian University Snow Sport Championships – Thredbo, Aug 30-Sept 4 2009

Australian University Games – the major event involving 40 universities and over 6,000 students from around Australia. In 2009, the AUG will be held on the Gold Coast from 28 September to 2 Oct.

Indian Rim Asian University Games - An internation university event held in Perth, December 7-11, 2009.  Also played at these games is the Australian University Championships 20/20 Cricket.

Where a sport is not part of the AUGs, a National Championship may be conducted.

Represent Australia – there is a regular program of international university sporting events in which Australia is represented. The World University Summer Games and World University Winter Games are held every two years. The next edition of the Summer Games is in Belgrade from 1-12 July 2009, and the Winter Games in China in January 2009.
