UNSW Fitness and Aquatic Centre Easter Opening Hours

DON'T LET EASTER DE-RAIL YOU FITNESS ROUTINE

Many Australians are well into their annual New Years health and exercise program, trying to lose weight for the year ahead when Easter arrives. Unfortunately, Easter can derail our efforts! With mountains of chocolate bilbies, Lindt bunnies and hot cross buns, Easter packs enough fat and calories to obliterate even the best weight loss program.

We tell ourselves Easter is a time for treats and we deserve an occasional delicacy because we work so hard/have such a complicated life/have been good. Just one, we say, or six or 20, for next week we'll start our diet.

Yeah, right!

Confectionery Manufacturers of Australasia estimates that a third of consumers spent up to $20 on Easter chocolates last year, about 35 per cent spent an average of up to $50 and a fifth spent up to $100. The association says sales total $230 million each year in Australia and New Zealand.

Other estimates have us scoffing more than 1kg of chocolate each over the Easter period, ingesting an average of 20 eggs a head. Chocolate prices skyrocket at Easter, hurting us in the hip pocket as well as the hips.

At UNSW Sport and Recreation, we know how important it is to maintain your health and exercise routine over the holidays! We are committed to helping you reach your goals and as a result provide you with plenty of opportunity to get in your workouts around the Easter festivities.
