Indoor Cycling Studio

Our R.P.M (Raw Power in Motion) is a high-energy, indoor stationary cycling class where the instructor takes participants on a "virtual" outdoor road adventure complete with hills, valleys, and racing to the finish line. These classes were created in the 1980s by world-class cyclist Jonathan Goldberg.

Like most aerobic classes and as the name suggest R.P.M is a form of aerobic activity that will give you a great cardiovascular workout and burn calories. Unlike some aerobic classes, R.P.M is a non-impact activity that can be easier on the joints than high-impact forms of exercise such as running, or body combat classes. Our R.P.M. classes last approximately 45 minutes. There are 21 bikes available, so classes are limited to this number.

A word of caution here. To avoid overexertion and possible injury, we suggest that if you intend doing R.P.M classes you should either be in very good cardiovascular condition or have the discipline to go at your own pace--even when the instructor is chanting "faster, faster" and the music is peaking to a crescendo! You will find that our instructors offer tips to help make your first R.P.M experience a positive one:

Dress for success Don't make the mistake of showing up in your usual boxers or running shorts. Opt for bike shorts, preferably padded.

Do not forget to bring a full water bottle and be prepared to consume plenty of fluids throughout class.

Before the class begins, the instructor will ask the class if there any new people to R.P.M. Do not feel embarrassed to speak up. This way the instructor will keep an eye on you throughout the class and will help you adjust your seat and handle bars to the appropriate height suited for you.
